Auto centre
November 23, 2024

Today I went to the auto centre and the young lady I an asked her where to wait and she looked like her energy is gone and she responded me without opening her mouth!

I didn't know what she said without looking at me and speaking from her throat not from her mouth. I wondered and asked a guy and that lady heard me when I asked him then suddenly shouting at me that I told you already! I was shocked!

But the other two ladies who were serving me was normal. They do their job. I respected both of them!

The first person was full of short tempered and scary person that the way her actions how she responded me and tune. She has to change her behaviour or she needs behaviour management, a counsellor.

She seems treated me like I am in the wrong place!

I took my Nissan Sentra 2015 to Canadian Tire Lebovich, Scarborough for a brake pad change in June 2024. They ended up making a number of marks on my car. I took the car in at 11am and got the car back at 1600hrs. When i noticed the marks and complained about it they showed me pictures they took of the car and the marks at 1530hrs,which is just 30 mins before i picked the car up. They didn't accept responsibility. They have a number of young and inexperience apprentices who don't know how to handle customers with care

Need brakes. I was told the total estimated cost for everything was about $1000 (rounded out with no cents included). The total bill was a shocking $1899.69. I disputed the amount based on the estimate and was treated like a liar, belittled and told me if I didn't pay I they could remove the new brakes but it would cost me labour. Horrible and costly experience.

Purchase of bike
April 18, 2024

The store on mcphillips was in the process of moving products within the store and not many staff were available to assist customers! However I found my bike without too much effort! An older gentleman came to assist us with the bike and showed where accessories were located! I would like to commend this person for going out of his way to help us! We were in and out in no time! Thank you!

Dishonest Company
December 15, 2023

I thought that Canadian Tire is a reputable company; however, they sold me a rim and tire that was not compatible with my car but I was not aware that they were not able to tighten knobs and didn't share this important information with me.
Today, I found out from my service advisor that it is not even safe enough to drive with this car one kilometer!
Be aware of these unprofessional service provider from Canadian Tire.
If your safety is important to you then don't trust them.
My experience was with High Tech location in Richmond Hill, Ontario

Con artists
November 15, 2023

Went into this CanadianTire store located in London on Wonderland Road and told them that my parking brake wasn't working. I was told they wanted to do a brake inspection that would be deducted from the bill when they determined what was wrong.
After the assessment, I was told that I needed a new parking brake cable and full brake service paired with an estimate of $1,300 for the work.
Paid the inspection fee and went to another garage where they adjusted the parking brake at the rear wheels for $100 and fixed the problem!
Too bad you can't rate these con artists negatively!

I bought a defective battery - it sparks. Brought. There is no refund, there is no guarantee. The starter burned out in the car. They said it was my problem. The battery type is working, not accepted - enjoy.

Every time I go in there, it's the same.

I took a long break from Castlegar Canadian Tire after terrible treatment by the manager, Ray. Went back recently because Castlegar still doesn't have a Walmart to cover basic stuff that the Dollar Store doesn't carry.

Nothing had changed. Maybe a few new faces. But that's it. Same terrible service and grumpy sad-looking staff members. The whole Store seems dysfunctional.

And on a less personal note, the sales aren't what they were a few years ago. Not really worth going in unless you can't find what you need at a better local store or on Amazon.ca.

If Canadian Tire in Castlegar is to continue, I think they need new management and a whole new outlook. The image is tired and sad. Everyone knows this.

I got profiled and kicked out.

If I could give this store zero stars, I would. After decades of frequenting the Castlegar Canadian Tire store, and after thousands of dollars worth of purchases over the years, I will probably never go there again.

Last week I went in with my son to look at lego and knives, a pretty normal everyday, and usually uneventful, shopping trip for a father and son. However, that day things were far from everyday.

A few minutes after our arrival, we were swarmed by four male members of staff, including the manager, Ray, and ordered out of the store. Not even given a chance to enquiry as to why. Just order out. Halfway to the front of the store, while having my personal space invade, the manager, Ray, he finally told me why we were being ejected. I had a backpack.

After I explained that my car was in the shop and that a backpack made the most sense for me to pack heavy groceries etc. home, and after I pointed out other customers with backpacks, rather than treating me like a person, or even just a good customer, Ray kept walking at me and repeating that I needed to leave.

Later at the front if the store he called the RCMP, and told me I could wait there and they would escort me out.

I waited, and while I did I saw a friend. She also had a backpack. I asked her if she thought it was fair that the stores policy (only just pointed out to me) was fair, seeing how it didn't seem to be equilateral enforced. Before she could answer, the manager, Ray, lept in between us (this is all shown on the CT cameras and reviewed by the RCMP) and pushed me back. When I took out my phone to check the time, Ray then grabbed it, pushed me again, and then attempted to snatch my glasses off my face, saying that I didn't need them and that they were a disguise (I have one darkened lens due to an eye injury.

When thr RCMP arrived I explained what had happened and that I felt threatened and was physically pushed.

Later, I called corporate Canadian Tire and made a formal complaint.

I do not expect anything will come of this. And I strongly believe that I was profiled and targeted by Ray and his staff at Castlegar Canadian Tire, because I have a bit of a scruffy appearance and odd-looking glasses. Why else would I be treated like a criminal while others at the same time with backpacks like mine, shopped freely without a swat team of red shirts descending on them.

So, be warned. Leave your backpack at home or prepare for the corporate tire to roll right over you.
