This is one of the worst selling platforms you can encounter. Dishonestly, vindictively and ineptly run, whether you're a buyer trying to navigate their clumsy, rigid site or - even worse - a seller trying to find a stable platform, you'll likely realize very soon that the horribly designed site is just the start.
Any hopes of an existent customer service staff? Ha! Any chance that you can count on reliable settings and selling parameters? That's a joke.
You'll pay BrickLink every month reliably, but nothing about their staff or rules is reliable. In fact, they'll often even tell you that they're just making up whatever they want in order to make their jobs easier.
The main issue with Bricklink is not knowing how much you will have to pay and being obligated to commit to buying before knowing all the costs.
You select the items you want whether they are bricks, mini figures or parts. Then you have to agree to buy them before the seller discloses how much it'll cost to ship them to you!
They're supposed to list their fee on their seller page, which most do.
But then they'll add "additional fees" on top. Then they'll add VAT on top of that when it's usually included in the list price.
It seems sellers will list an item that cheaper than eBay for example, only to pad the price to double what you can find elsewhere with hidden fees. By the time you realise you're locked into an agreement to buy it from them.
Oh I forgot to mention, if you used the only method they offer for payment, they'll add an additional 5% on top of the quoted price.
This was an excellent transaction. The package arrived on the first day of window. Brick Megastore storefront. Prompt responses to emails and detailed purchase

I have been a seller and buyer on bricklink for almost 8 years with +2000 transactions, and have never had any big issues. In my experience, bricklink is by far the best place to trade Lego.
Bricklink customer service is not so good though.
I sell and buy Lego on Bricklink all the time. Find stores with orders placed in their store and sellers with positive feedback and you can not go wrong. Your final total will be more in the end due to shipping and fees that sellers charge. For example, my shipping starts at $3.49 and each order has a $0.75 fee for packaging and PayPal fees.
I've been buying and selling on BrickLink since 2003. I've seen administration and owners change and now The LEGO Group owns it and is working on updating things.
Stores are independent, much like other sales sites like Etsy.
Great site to get things you must have, awesome community and I'm hopeful for the future!
Poor customer service with untrained employees. After requesting simple documentation from the company, they were defensive and evasive. I wouldn't do any business with BrickLink again.
If you can, try to reach out to the seller directly and make a purchase with them directly through Paypal so that you can avoid the weird bureaucracy and dubious ethical standards at the Lego corporate arm that runs BrickLink.
I got scammed by one of the sellers. The sets were listed as complete and good condition, but I received 7 incomplete sets out of the seven 100% complete sets I have ordered. One of them had 50 parts out of the total of 450 missing and also had one of the 2 instruction manuals missing. Bricklink has done nothing to help me get my money back.
Many sellers on Bricklink are honest, however, some are not and WILL shortchange you on parts and WILL overcharge on shipping. They are supported by the admin of Bricklink and there is nothing you can do about except file a case with Paypal to get your money back.
Be warned and be prepared to have to file a case with Paypal every now and then. BrickOwl is a better place and I hope it grows larger. Many of Bricklink sellers are on BrickOwl, hopefully the dishonest ones don't migrate or BrickOwl's admin will take care of both buyers and sellers, and not just sellers like Bricklink.
You have been warned! It is not a matter of if, but when... You will lose some money on occasion and don't bother writing the admin. Just go to Paypal. It will save you a lot of grief. Don't even discuss with the seller, they know that Bricklink won't do anything and will stall you until you cannot file a claim with Paypal.
I had 1 good experience and 1 bad one. A seller never sent my items and to my surprise I wasn't able to write a feedback review of the seller (b/c the seller blocked the ability to do so). This means be careful because costumer experiences are not entirely transparent if the customer can be blocked from writing a review. While there may be some good people who sell on Brinklink, should there be an issue, the company fails to align with the customer.
BrickLink has a rating of 3 stars from 11 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. BrickLink ranks 25th among Toys Store sites.
