Our extended family started using Allrecipes over a decade ago, primarily to store and share recipes between family members. We entered hundreds of recipes. All of our recipes were lost and Allrecipes has not been helpful in helping us locate where they went. Tech support has been vague and unhelpful. Do not trust. Allrecipes 10-15 years ago was 1000% better than it is now.
I found two recipes that I followed on all recipes.com to yield results inconsistent with those advertised to be expected. It seemed as if they were just dreamt up, and published without any practical application. I then tried to submit a comment, and was advised that the email address does not exist.
WHY Would you change something that was so great?!?!?! This is so annoying...I've been using All Recipes for over 20 years and the App has always been way better than the website! NOW they decided to get rid of the App which has over 20 years of saved recipes. For some reason, the website has always been bad because you cannot sort and filter by Popularity, most reviews, etc...The app was really cool!
Are you trying to completely sink your company?! I guess I'll have to try the "Tasty" app. I hate when companies do this crap...They get some hot shot in there to try and Change everything when essential they ruin the entire company platform just like Budlight.
This site provided the most useful search for recipes by ingredients of any out there. Putting in what you had on hand and what you would not want to include led to fantastic novel suggestions and many new discoveries. Now the site is completely dumbed down and I guess is meant to be used to click through thousands of recipes. Much rather use a cookbook for that. Completely unclear why they messed up the site so bad. I am looking forward to a competitor simply implementing their old model.
Yeah, this used to be a good site. Like other reviewers, one can no longer search for a recipe. I don't know what happened but I noticed a lot of changes—not for the better—over the past couple of years. And now today it's the worst it's ever been. If their goal is to stop folks from using their site, well it's working. Seems like the quality of businesses has gone downhill especially ever since COVID came around—not saying that I blame COVID— but a lot of businesses have blamed their lack of quality on it.
This was a great site and it also had several international sites including a really good Australian and New Zealand version. That's now gone and all my bookmarks just redirect to the home page of the main site. On their Australian and New Zealand cuisine page they say they have more than 570 Aus & NZ recipes but I can't find many at all. Functionality of the site has also been drastically reduced. It's much harder to find what I want now. When they give weights of ingredients they don't give the metric value, although they do at least give temperatures in both Fahrenheit and Celsius. There are also a lot of ads and I wouldn't mind that too much except for the one across the top that reduces the amount of useful screen space.
The website functionality has been dismantled. The recipe box feature gone, the sort on highest tested and rated recipes or reviews gone, list of ingredients and return recipes - gone. No market research from its user base! Shame! Useless now!
Allrecipes.com used to be my favorite site for meal planning & recipes. I loved the search function - if I wanted to try something new with, say, raspberries & lemons, I could search. I saved hundreds of recipes along with my personal notes. Whoever 'updated' the site took out all the functionality (including my notes), and I can't even easily find, say, the lasagna recipes I saved over the years without scrolling through the hundreds of recipes I've saved. I've sent in my questions/issues/recommendations to corporate to no avail. Now, if on occasion, I try to use the site again, just puts me in an extremely bad mood. I should have gone old-school and printed the recipes when I had the chance.
Since they took away the search for recipe by ingredient feature I will be switching to SuperCook as they still have that function. It's a little fiddly but I can type a single ingredient (like ground pork) & see everything that uses that.
Im not even that into cooking. Before allrecipes, everything I cooked was off the betty crocker website. Thats right. Betty Crocker. When I discovered allrecipes years ago i was an instant fan. All these people across the US sharing recipes in a giant database- people like me who actually made the recipe could rate and suggest improvements. I learned so much from you all. You could search by ingredients, ratings, recipes. I had favorite contributors. Now, i go to search for a recipe and the results are just articles about recipes from someone who *clearly has not made a single one of these recipes*. Then Ive got to sift through these articles to find a recipe i have the ingredients to make for dinner in an hour? Pfft, ill just google it. Google isnt as efficient as the old allrecipes, but it blows new allrecipes away. I am just so very disappointed.
Answer: Same here. I think we've been defrauded. So much has gone bad with this formerly good site. Maybe time fot some class action.
