I sat on a busy highway for hours waiting for Triple A only to be told they would not be coming to help. I have paid for this service for years and have never requested help. I'm not paying for it any longer. Period
I am very disappointed with AAA after 23 years. I bought a batery from then in November and until today they not change it. They say that have garanty but when the technician comes to the place where my car broken they do the test and do not change the batery. I have been calling 4 times and yesterday my car broken again and I was on the street again. Was so cold and now I am very sick at home. I tried to call then and always the same response. Just I need a new batery that I need and I payed for it. It's very frustrating to pass for this situation and th AAA didn't care for me. Jesse branth **********
Called aaa because I was stuck in my driveway because of snow was told they would not respond because I was at home. Even though I have the premier membership
Terrible service left my 74-year-old mother stranded on 95 never came she waited over 8 hours the tow truck place kept canceling on her over 10 of them to be exact this was December 21st 2024 started calling them at 2:00 p.m. by 10:00 p.m. I had to drive 2 hours away to get her then pay a tow company the next day 400 bucks to tow the car how can you charge for a service you're not providing very tempted to get a lawyer it was 20° out there if she wasn't able to get to a warm place she would have froze to death shame on you guys then they called her late that night and said figure out a way home and come back 2 hours away tomorrow to get a tow cuz she needs to be there to show her ID and the tow truck places didn't even have the courtesy to say they're not coming every 45 minutes she would call and they would say they're not coming call AAA to get another tow truck company with some excuse I would never buy their service again you're better off paying the few hundred to tow company when you need them cuz they will be there for the cash but don't seem to have the time for the AAA members and I blame triple a for letting this happen and not holding these tow companies to a certain standard what a joke
After being an AAA member for over 20 years I am cancelling my membership. In the past two months, I have had two horrific experiences - the first one happened in November 2024 when I ran out of gas on the West Side Highway in NYC. AAA doesn't service incidents/accidents on this highway (and other NYC roadways) due to cost restraints and they had to call an outside towing company to help. Needless to say, it took a lot longer to resolve. The second experience was when I got a flat tire on Interstate 84, northeast of Hartford, CT west bound to NYC on Friday, December 27th. It took AAA nearly 4 hours to get me towed off the busy highway, knowing that I was not safe. Even though the AAA staff was friendly when I called multiple times, (also was hung up on multiple times) they were incompetent and ineffectual in resolving my issue. AAA membership is not worth the money - I am planning to check out a membership with Better World Club, Good Sam, or Allstate Motor Club, or see if my car insurance company offers roadside assistance.
I have been a member of AAA as long as I have been driving. In the past if I needed AAA and my membership has lapsed I called and they renewed my membership on the spot. My membership card says Valid thru September 1 2025. I called because my car needs to be towed to a local auto shop. I was told my membership expired in 2022. Then they told me that the valid thru date is sent out 3 years in advance but you need to renew membership every year. I accepted that which is a big problem but then I asked to sign up now. I was told that would not be a problem it's $70 for my membership but if I want service today there would be a $60 additional charge or I could wait 3 days for service. First my card said Valid until September next year, then I cannot get my car taken care of today unless I pay almost double the membership chare. I use to love AAA but this experience has caused me to rethink membership.
I am beyond disappointed with my recent experiences with AAA. I have been a loyal member for over 25 years and have rarely had to call for assistance during that time. However, the service I've received over the past two months has made me seriously question my membership.
The first call was for a flat tire on my daughter's car. I requested a tow to a nearby location, but after waiting 90 minutes, the technician showed up without a tow truck and instead put a bad spare on the tire. This was incredibly frustrating, especially since I had clearly communicated that I needed a tow.
The other four calls were all related to a bad car battery. I purchased a AAA battery in November 2021, which was still under their 3-year warranty. With the colder weather, my car has been having trouble starting because of a failing battery. Yesterday, my battery completely died after a movie, and I called AAA at 7:30 p.m. They initially estimated about an hour for assistance, but it turned into a nightmare.
I waited nearly four hours in freezing temperatures, repeatedly calling for updates, only to be told it would be another hour or two each time. When someone finally arrived at 11:30 p.m., they didn't even bring a replacement battery despite my clear request during the initial call. Instead, they jump-started my car and insisted I rev the engine for over twenty minutes to charge the battery before they could test it.
After testing, they claimed the battery was charged and didn't qualify for replacement under the warranty, despite the obvious issues I've been experiencing. My battery is clearly failing, but AAA refuses to honor the warranty.
After 25 years of loyalty and rarely asking for assistance, I expected far better service. Waiting hours in the cold and dealing with unprepared technicians is unacceptable. AAA has seriously let me down, and I'm now questioning whether this membership is worth it.
A section of our cement siding blew off during high winds and all four sides of our house had damaged (lifted) siding from the same wind. We filed a claim providing three estimates for full replacement based on all three contractors stating that it all needed to be replaced. Our AAA adjuster and his roofing and siding expert inspected the entire house one week after the claim was submitted. One week after that, the adjuster called to tell me the company required one of their structural engineers to do an inspection. The structural engineer showed up several weeks later and completed his inspection. Three months after making the claim, the adjuster called and said they were not covering anything. Their reason was that it was inferior siding (Certainteed) and their contract said they were not responsible for inferior products. It took three full months for them to tell me that.
On a separate occasion we needed roadside assistance for a flat tire that happened on a Saturday. AAA Roadside Assistance phone number went to an answering service that directed me to a list of towing services in the area authorized by AAA. All 12 towing services listed were closed on Saturday. After looking for an alternate service, I found one on line that turned out to based out of India. The scheduler/expediter lined up a tow 14 mlles back to our home with our car for $400. AAA eventually paid the claim, but it was 4 1/2 hours before we got home waiting the entire time standing on the shoulder of the highway.
Needless to say AAA has let us down twice and cannot be counted on for handling our insurance needs. We are probably not getting our home resided on our dime ($43,000) until spring thanks to waiting three months taking us into winter weather. Our insurance agent said we should wait until we have new siding before cancelling AAA and getting different insurance. Even though AAA refused the claim, it is now on our record which will make it difficult and more expensive to get new coverage.
Stay away from AAA. Cheaper rate than others, but what good is it if they don't support their customers?
Was involved in an accident that wasn't my fault, and the person who hit me has AAA insurance. AAA didn't reach out to me for over a week, and I had to call them myself—while on vacation—to even start the process. Initially, they told me I couldn't keep my car at my preferred shop, but once I pushed back, they suddenly changed their stance and allowed it. This deceptive tactic was frustrating.
To make matters worse, they lowballed me on the value of my totaled car, despite the fact that I have receipts for every bolt and all the maintenance done. They were unprofessional in response to my fair valuation. Then they yanked my rental car, leaving me without transportation to work.
I feel like nothing more than a number to them. Even if I had accepted their offer, how could I buy a car on a weekday with a full-time job? I couldn't even have the rental until the weekend to make arrangements. I didn't ask to be in this situation, but now I'm left scrambling, trying to figure out how to provide for my family and do basic things like get groceries.
They left me stranded on the side of the highway for 8 hours continuously telling me a driver would be on the way. My initial call was at 8:45pm. I called them every 2 hours for updates and was repeatedly told a tow was in the way. 3:30am I finally get a call back from the dispatcher telling me the 1 and only available tow truck driver refuses to comeout and that I need to find a ride home and to leave my keys in the car. So I find my own way home because their 24 hour roadside assistance is a complete lie. Then after being promised that 1 and only driver would tow my car at 8 am he finally got to it at 10:30. I don't know how it's legal for them to advertise 24 hour roadside assistance as I was completely ignored when I needed assistance for 13 of the 24 hours they supposedly operate. After a complaint to the BBB they wouldn't even refund me the price of my full membership. Very unfortunate to be a member of AAA for multiple years and the 1 time I need actual assistance I get told find my own way home we will get to you when it's a good time for our tow truck driver to do so be it the 13 hours later it doesn't matter to them. Never renewing my membership and highly recommend nobody become a new member.
Answer: No. Our experience with AAA has been a total fail on their part.
Answer: I should have been more specific. I am trying to get the the AAA club membership for chicago. That site is for California. And it is secure. As is one i checked for Texas. Chicago?... not so much.
