You don't. The only thing that you can be sure of is that if you have a problem Airbnb will be unreachable. They hide from dissatisfied customers and hosts alike. You are taking big chances when you deal with them. The benefits just aren't worth the risks.

You don't know. It's down to pure luck. I was lucky with most of my hosts but one bad person can ruin your holiday.

Air bnb is a FRAUD

I disagree with Gabrielle. If AIRBNB had done ANY research about the host that dumped me 2 days before my arrival, they would have found out that she was illegally renting her space. Her fellow neighbors threatened to have her evicted if she rented to one more person. I was unlucky enough to be that person. In addition, a few days before I was to rent this place in West Hollywood, I received an email from AIRBNB thanking me for listing my 4 bedroom apartment in Amsterdam. I DON'T HAVE A 4 BEDROOM APARTMENT IN AMSTERDAM. I was told that someone stole my password and listed this place. Doesn't that give you a warm, secure feeling? I have used VRBO and have had not 1 problem. That would be a better choice. Don't put another dime in airbnb's pocket.

You never do - but try to glean some guidance from reviews. You never know about the owner or the neighborhood. You can count on AirBnB not being reachable if you have a problem. I recommend hotwire - pretty good deals and a hotel feels so much safer. Good luck!

Guests have a FALSE SENSE OF SECURITY when they choose to book through a 3rd party such as airbnb rather than direct through the host as many HOSTS CAN BE VERIFIED by guests in the same manner airbnb verifies their hosts (as is the case with CHERI WOODS RENTALS where I am a licensed realtor and have my own website, photos, reviews, etc.) Additionally, guests will definitely SAVE MONEY by cutting out the middleman (airbnb) by dealing directly with the host/owner, and can RESOLVE ISSUES DIRECT with the host/owner rather than be "ignored" by airbnb.

I had 2 issues in 24 hours with them Although they were very quick in issuing a refund. I would use vrbo talking to the owner of the property before hand really can give you great piece of mind!

Really look at the pix that are posted. With the place in Roswell the owner posted pix of a nearby McDonald's. Only other shots of his place were back of the trailer and the yard.

You would need to go round or get someonevto check it gor you. Airbnb are the worst ever if you want to cancel. They take half your money and takecan age to credit your account. If unsure use another company. In fact i would just use another company in any event airbnb are the worst
