Scheduled a round trip from Pellston, Michigan to Miami plus car and hotel in Islamarada.
1/9 Pellston flight to DTW cancelled. Three long phone calls to an off shore location to get rebooked (flight only) for 1/10. Fourth call to try again to deal with the car rental and hotel. Had to demand a stateside agent before this could be done. Achieved 11:40 arrival schedule for MIA and then 1/11 at 2:00 AM for Islamorada.
1/10 PLN to DTW cancelled again at noon. Rebooked on a flight out of MSB 3.5 hr. Drive south at 4:00 PM. Just made it and made DTW to ATL and ATL to MIA. Car there and hotel informed of 1+ day late arrival.
1/19 departed MIA, arrived ATL. ATL to DTW flight returned to gate for mechanical problems and deplaned. Departure on another plane two hours and one meal later and missed connection DTW to MSB. Had to stay overnight with meal, near DTW. Arrived MSB on 1/20 at noon for 3.5 hour drive back north barely making appointments.
Absolutely, no help or comment from Travelocity except the rescheduling on 1/9 that took hours and 5 phone calls to achieve. Absolutely no help or courtesies from Delta.
The trip was insured but the entire burden of proof and the burden of a six page claim form are on me, resulting in several more hours of wasted time.
Travelocity is not a service I will ever use again for the above reasons, and because without a breakdown of the cost of flights, car and hotel, one can only make comparisons to other net figures, but it is virtually impossible to come away with an informed opinion about the value of the service and package. I have taken month long trips to Europe and Morocco with self booked flights, cars and hotels with less aggravation and quite comfortable with the costs which were all individually known.
