Yesterday we went to our Public Storage on ******* Potranco to put up somethings. We tried to open our unit, but to our surprise it was said if we wanted she can give us new key set. Well why wouldn't we, were paying for the storage and now she is the only one to have access to our unit. We asked why they changed our key, her response was our unit was opened and they put a new one. They never called us, so we could check our unit if anything was missing. And she responded that they have had a lot of new employees and they forgot to note it in our account. But she knew what key to bring and open our unit. When she open our unit the lock that was popped out was there in clear vision, they knew and fail us tenants.
We notice things missing and things scattered. We said we have been robbed. She said she was not aware of any robberies. But other unit holders were told they had to make police reports, this was on July 31,1 on August 2,2023 and us on the the 3rd. Six to 8 reports were made, how can she stand there and say she's not aware of any robberies. Plus I am trying to find more reports.
We were stopped by another unit member that they facility were robbed too, but company had no knowledge of this. Unit 224 also was robbed, next to ours.
Followed employee to her office so she can input notes on their computer. But did not call the police, she said we had to do that on our own. But these thieves broke in to their units and the make no report. Sounds very fishy to me.
Notice, I believe six monitors of security around facility behind her. I mention that they have access to view their video. She quickly responded that they don't always work. Mentioned to her that 2 Sunday back, I and another 5 people could not enter facility. Called their number and left all my information to call me back. I had traveled 20 miles to their facility to leave things in my unit. 5 minutes went by and call we called the care phone number and left a very lengthy message with all my Information for return call. Until this date no one has returned my call.
I left a message before with a quick call back. She could no answer that question.
Called police to make a report, then list all items that I remetll waiting on a return call.mber that taken. Then the detective will ask for security footage. I'm sure they won't have any. And they have fail to have security cameras working to protect them and our units.
Called we care number *******620 and *******720, talkrd to Letty, explain all my concerns, robbery. She acted like she was not aware, but I wanted someone that was management from their corporate to call me back to answer all my questions & concern why they fail a unit owners. Still waiting on a return call.

I have lost 2 storage units with this company when I had lost my apartment. The first time I had a huge tote with all my personal info in it basically my whole life... and NOPE THE BUYER DIDN'T RETURN MY PERSONAL STUFF SO THAT GIVES THEM THE CHOICES IF THEY WANT TO RUIN MY LIFE AND CREDIT.SO the second time I LOST MY APARTMENT WHEN COVID CAME ABOUT I had no ID AND HAD TO PUT THE STORAGE UNIT INTO MY FRIENDS NAME AND THEN SHE GAVE ME ACCESS TO THE UNIT... DUE TO COVID I LOST MY JOB AND GOT REALLY SICK AND THE STORAGE HAD A LIEN ON IT WELL I PAID IT IN FULL AND MY FRIENDS NAME WHO'S IT WAS IN CALLED MULTIPLE TIMES AND GAVE ME PERMISSON TO PUT NEW LOCKS ON THE STOFAGE AND THE LADY WORKING AT PUBLIC STKRAGE IN WEST VALLEY UTAH NAMED SANDY HAS NO CARE IN THE WORLD SHE'S NOT EVEN ONE BIT OF EMPATHY THAT I HAD PICTURES AND mine n my two kids SOCIALS AND birth CERTIFICATE S my dead FATHERS DEATH CERTIFICATE HIS AUTOPSY AND ORIGJNAL DOCUMENTS THat no one had I needed to prove his murder... I can never replace these things ever ever again. So I tried multiple times to go and put a new lock on the doors after I paid the balance in full and they was being shady about me getting into the gates because she said they was having problems with break ins... I feel like she was hiding more than that but she made it difficult to get my stuff out of there because my friends who names on the unit works 2jobs and had no time to go and change the LOCKS but have

States that the buyer of who buys your storage unit had to return their personal belongings and we hAVE. 30 DAYS TO PICK IT UP! WELL SHE SAID "WELL WHY WOULD YOU PUT THAT KIND OF STUFF IN THERE?" WHY... BECAUSE I HAD NO WHERE ELSE TO PUT IT. RUDE! I'VE NEVER FELT SO SHUT DOWN AND Violated and there's nothing I could do about it besides cry cry cry I hope no one else has to go through it.so I am currently trying to find a way to get the buyers to return my personal stuff, it's messed up and cruel I just received a call that I had a mountain America CREDIT bank account that I owed that the first time I LOST my storage unit before that's ruining my credit and now this storage unit again the buyers are doing FRAUDULENT ACTIVITY WITH MY LITTLE FAMILY'S IDENTITY I'M A SINGLE MOM STRUGGLING FOR OUR PERSONALL STUFF I URGE PEOPLE TO GO WITH ANOTHER COMPANY DO NOT TRUST YOUR PERSONAL BELONGINGS THERE! THE WORKERS GET INTO YOUR STUFF WHEN EVER THEY WANT AND Take what they want and that's because they hired people who are criminals and non trustworthy who do not care FOR people in my situation. I have talked to multiple people who gone through the same issues and our victims just like us.

There is no way public storage rated 4 out 5. I don't belief it. You know those company pay for fake reviews. I have been dealing with public storage for a long time. Reason being, because I moved across the country (2,000 miles away). It is depressing and painful to think about the amount of money I paid or should gave to those idiots. It would have been easier to accept it at least if the service was good. But, the service is horrendous. I decided to write this review today(April 6th, 2020) which is long coming. Because for the life of me, I can't phathom why public storage chooses to raise rent on customer right now. We are in the middle of pandemic. Millions of people lost their jobs. Me personally, last time I worked was first week of March and they are thousand of other people across the country just like me. As a matter of fact, on March 26th, I called public storage customer service to asked them if they have any help for customer who cannot pay rent on time this month or if there is anything their can do to help in any capacity. I was told "NO, but customers can make payment over the phone for free to ovoid late fees". Like said, I have been dealing with public storage for a longtime, I NEVER receive a text from them. Suddenly, a week after I called them to ask question about payment alternative, I got a text reminded me that payment is due on May 1st, or late fee will applied. However, the biggest shock for me, is that my payment went up this month from $244.00 to $ 256.00. Shame on you public storage. I understand paying a storage unit is not priority right now. But, when you made the mistake of moving across the country and place everything you own in a storage unit, it's not that easy to just let go. I never meet anybody who have anything good to say about this company. To my defense, I did not rent form public storage. I rented a unit from Extra Space Storage, which later sold to public storage. Yes, business is business, but without your customers there is no business. Don; t worry, we will remember how you treated us public storage.

I've rented from Public Storage many times over the years at different locations including at this same location. My experience in 2017 at the 3501 Lomita, Torrance location was the worst ever!
I reserved online and then showed up with a loaded rental truck on moving day. When doing the paperwork, I was told that I had to buy their insurance or show proof of my renter's insurance. I told them I never had to buy insurance before at any of the locations (including this one!) during my prior rentals and I didn't have proof of my renter's insurance with me. Leslie insisted that I could NOT rent the storage unit unless I agree to purchase their insurance. That was their new policy! I relented because it was hot and I just wanted to get the stuff in storage and return the truck. But as I read the contract, it specifically said I could decline the insurance. I pointed that out to Leslie, but she insisted the forms were old and that I had to buy the insurance. She said I could get it removed once I proved I had renter's insurance. I signed the form.
Leslie gave me a number to "corporate." After many attempts to get through to management, I was eventually told that I did not have to prove I had my own insurance but that I needed to go back to the facility to remove the insurance from the account. I went back to the facility and Leslie was in prime form! When I questioned Leslie about the inconsistencies in the form, she said she was done talking to me and told me to leave because she planned to close up the shop. (It was 12:30 in the afternoon.) When I insisted that she complete the transaction, she threatened to call the police on me! I was shocked! When I asked her why on earth she would call the police, she said because I did not leave as she instructed.
At this point, I decided to start video-taping her. She already had her phone in her hand pointed at me and I suspect she was taping me, though she denied it several times. Leslie got upset that I was recording her and told me to leave again; she quickly calmed down when she thought I was going to sign the form.
I asked her to print the form but she claimed she could not be printed until after I signed it. She ultimately cancelled the insurance but refused to give me a refund for money already spent. She told me to call "customer service" (a concept she was clearly not familiar with) to discuss my refund.
After 5 or 6 calls to her supervisor, I finally got through to her supervisor Ken Lassegard. His first reaction was, "Well, if she threatened to call the police, she must have felt threatened!" Ah, so quick to invent a justification for his employee. When I explained how outrageous it was for him to assume she was threatened when I just described a situation in which there was absolutely no reason for her to feel threatened. He acknowledged that he didn't know why she threatened to call the police. He agreed it was wrong for an employee to close up shop just because the customer is questioning the employee about the form. He conceded that an employee should not threaten to call the police. He then told me it was against policy to issue a refund for insurance! He didn't seem to care that the only reason I purchased the insurance was because Leslie insisted that i had to! Never again will I use Public Storage.
