I've become the biggest hater! I've been a loyal, Pandora listener since the whole Lars Ulrich saga. Pandora used to pride themselves on their "Free Music" slogan. They bragged to have a huge selection, free downloads and excellent sound quality was also something they boasted. Well, unfortunately, since losing billions of customers and seemingly hanging on by a thread, they have resorted to FULL ON TERRORIZATION TACTICS to bully their meager listening audience who do not subscribe to their fees for "Ad Free" music! It's like being in a horror movie similar to a "Hostel" scene… I feel like I'm being absolutely tortured! The company has fine-tuned their system to literally cause changes in the brain. While listening to my music, I'm in the groove, spirits high, dancing and singing and suddenly, as soon as my song ends, I'm jolted into some horrible shock-like anger and extreme annoyance. I have to run accross the room to turn the volume down because the screeching of the A. I voices is so, intensely and obnoxiously LOUD! I've just about had a heart attack but that is just the beginnng! I can't turn the blaring volume down! They've somehow amped up the sound and probably some binaural beets. That suddenly is louder than even the loudest I can tune my volume to. They have these extremely unnerving commercials playing at probably 100x what my volume on my device can even possibly go! I literally, cannot turn the volume down as I normally do when a Pandora ad is broadcasting! This is not by accident and I've been observing this new trickery for a few years now as I've seen the more and more forceful tactics they utilize in order to force you to buy in to a subscription. This disruption to the brain is similar to tactics the Nazis used by causing the fighter planes to screech extremely loudly as they were going down. This "sound effect" was purposely created on the planes for no other reason but to frighten people and put a "subliminal" and on-going fear in the people for the same reason Pandora blasts you with their "ads." I would love it if there were scientists and sound specialists who would study Pandora's algorithmic manipulation and expose them for intentionally causing distress and brain disruption in its listeners. I'm sure they have spent an inordinate amount of money we have paid to them as customers for creating a very secretive and no doubt, destructive, manipulative format which is fed through their A.I platform.
I hope that Pandora gets all the karma and reaps what it has woven into the fabric of our universe! Pandora is nothing more than a Fraud and had been responsible for so much damage to humanity in that musicians have no sovereignty in the distribution and sales of their own creations. Pandora is a greedy, corporation, pathetically and desperately attempting to hold on to the few listeners it has left by use of manipulation and torture. The hate alone that the music industry has for these pigs should have been enough to make them crawl back under the rock they emerged from, but… no. These corporate hogs never have enough! They take and take and take. Shame on you Pandora! The universe will take care of you and hopefully the FCC will investigate your tactics and find you guilty of unnecessary interference and abuse of the listeners ears!
FACTS:
I joined Pandora, free version, in its infancy, many years ago, but hadn't used it in quite a while. This morning I decided to log on to my account, and in so doing, decided to upgrade. I read the side by side list on my laptop of Plus and Premium features, and prices. I decided on Plus billed annually after a one month free trial. The following features were included in Plus AND in Premium:
Ad-free personalized music
Search and play anything
Enjoy your favorite podcasts
Unlimited skips
Sounds good doesn't it?
(Premium also included 2 additional features - Unlimited offline listening,
Make and share playlists, which I was willing to forego)
However, and here is the problem, once I gave my credit card to Pandora for billing, and logged in, I saw a DIFFERENT list of features available to me with my PLUS membership. NO "Ad free listening", NO "Search and play anything". Now I would have to upgrade again, since presumably these features ARE available with Premium, at twice the cost of Plus of course. SUCKER! But of course we aren't told the truth until AFTER we "sign on the dotted line", so to speak.
Frankly, I didn't see any difference between the free version and the true Plus version. Both have ads, neither has "Search and play anything". Why pay for Plus?. (Personally, I didn't care about Unlimited skips or podcasts)
So minutes later I cancelled my paid PLUS subscription. Thankfully I had saved the cancellation instructions. Since I did this less than 10 minutes after signing up, and still during the month long free trial, I should not be billed. And if billed, I will not pay.
I can't imagine why Pandora believes that this is a good policy - attempting to screw customers out of their money under false pretenses. In my mind that is attempted theft. Attempted because I caught the deception immediately and cancelled.
I hope this may help at least one person avoid the anger and aggravation I experienced.
Well, that's all, I'm off to find an HONEST music website.

Here's my deal with Pandora. I have to agree it is a lot better than it used to be by far however, they need to remove the price point "unlimited skips" because it simply is misleading and untrue. I pay the 9.99 /mo premium. As a test, i "skipped" a bunch of songs one right after another. 15-20 skips then the message "No more remaining skips" unlimited my $#*!. I switch to another station in my station list. I get 5-10 more then eventually, the system will absolutely block you from skipping songs no matter if you switch stations or not and will block you for 24 hours. The "Are you still listening" pops up too and is very annoying.
My state, you dont mess with your phone while you are driving. Period. You do, cop pulls you over, gives you a 500 dollar ticket. I spend anywhere from 2-4 hours per day in my car commuting back and forth to work. I have a very loud and powerful sound system in the car. I've tried spotify premium and cant stand it cause it will repeat songs over and over again.
I have amazon prime music also, i like that but i dont get the variety as i do with pandora. I also have google music service. My car stereo (Kenwood DNX892) directly supports Pandora but you cannot rewind or replay in the interface. You can thumbs down / up and skip tracks also change stations. Thats pretty much it. Another thing, they should not count skips against you when you "thumbs down" that's annoying to me too. Yeah i'm complaining. I've already complained to support but their response is "No F*cks given, thanks for the money, now piss off."
I recently sent in a complaint about their so called unlimited skips thing and the douche bags sent me a canned answer that to me just gives excuses cause they say some of the songs have licensing issues apparently. So why does pandora have issues with licensing and no other streaming services dont?
Here's their response:

Hi Scott,
There is no hourly or daily skip limit for Pandora Plus and Pandora Premium stations and in that sense you will receive unlimited skips.
Although the majority of the songs in our collection will be eligible to be skipped without limits, you may encounter a portion of songs that are not eligible to be skipped due to our current licensing agreements. Since were bound by our existing license to stream many of our tracks in a radio format, this option may not be available for some tracks.
We know it can be frustrating to have to listen to a song youd rather skip. When this happens, we suggest scrolling through your recently played tracks and selecting a song to replay. Or switch things up by tuning into a different station.
Additionally, if you find that you are skipping that much, then you are probably not creating stations based on artists or songs that fit your listening habits. Keep in mind that creating a station based on an artist or track will heavily influence that station. If youd like to hear more variety, create lots of different stations based on different styles, tracks, artists, and then shuffle them.
*Alternatively, Pandora Premium subscribers like yourself can create custom playlists that are not subject to these licensing restrictions. Try creating your own playlist of songs that you know you want to hear. Let me know if youd like more details about this.
For more on the benefits of Pandora Premium, and to see your subscription options, visit https://www.pandora.com/settings/subscription
We are continuously working on increasing the amount of songs which can be skipped on our stations. Our intention is to provide enough music you enjoy to avoid any inconvenience around this.
Hope this makes sense. Let me know if you need any further assistance.
