Long story short I had a medical treatment today and hadn't eaten all day due to this. I've been in bed unwell so my only option was to order for delivery as I'm unable to do anything cause of my health condition. So I started a $50 order for my LOCAL fast food place and during my order I received and error. So I reopened a new window and completed my already started previously unfinished order in the system. Come to find out they deceptively switched the delivery location to the next town over without advising me before I placed my order. If I had known I wouldn't have ordered it. I only realized it when they sent tracking. I immediately tried to cancel within minutes of placing my order but was told I couldn't and offered a $5 credit... No thanks!. Once the food had arrived from over 40 mins away unsurprisingly everything was ice cold and the drink was nothing but watered down warm tea from the ice melting. The ice cream pie was warm and melted. I attempted to start to eat my cold fries and hamburger but couldn't even get a few bites without it making me feel completely sick on top of already being ill from my treatments. I tried to get a refund for the items except for the tip as it was of no fault of the driver or store but they kept offering me a credit that started at $5 again and then got up to $17. I told them no thanks over and over to stop offering credits as I will never order from them again so the credits were useless to me. But they kept trying to push credits. I told them that a credit wasn't acceptable for a $50 order on inedible food that made me sick that I had to trash. So their last offer was to refund $15, are you kidding me?! I again restated I will not ever order from them again and I would be making my complaint known on social media and review sites for others to be informed of their deceptive practices. The last thing she said was they would be in contact to try to resolve this with a supervisor after over 2 hours of chat and calls from the time of my order and my last conversation with the last rep after being given a run around with numerous reps. I'm not holding my breath. So my advice is use another service that doesn't have deceptive and unethical practices. Update: As of now I got an email that I will get a refund. After having to go through the hassle of hours of numerous chats, calls and emails with Grubhub during my ordering ordeal which is still completely unacceptable. So we shall see. I will leave this review up as this reflects my true and accurate experience with them so others can be aware and make their own decision on if they want to take the chance of using their service. I will update the stars to reflect getting a refund once it is processed.

Last night my neighbor came to me as I was getting in my car to leave and asked me to help her. She said that she ordered from grubhub and the driver was giving her problems and wasn't giving her the order. She explained that the maps took her to the complex across the street. This is a common issue where we live, I have found that Doordarsh has the option to adjust the pin on the map for those who have the same issues. When I found that a few years ago I didn't find any other delivery service that offers that pin adjustment. So, that is my first issue with this company and highly recommend that changes. When I walked out of my garage the female gurbhub driver was oddly walking towards my direction. I tried asking what was the issue and she stated that my neighbor called her a (B). I asked if she could just give me my neighbors order and call it a night. I reminded her that she is supposed to be the professional. She then yelled the same statement. Standing behind me my neighbor denied the accusation and they both started yelling at each other. I was trying to calm the situation and the driver got around me and hit my neighbor in the face with what was in the bag being delivered. I was trying to stop the two from a full on fight and out of nowhere the drivers boyfriend came and knocked out my 43 year old female neighbor in front of her two young boys. He then started to come at me with his fists ready. Thank God other neighbors came out yelling and they both ran off to the vehicle. I am beyond disappointed that these are the kind of people that have heen hired to deliver to people's homes. They both were clearly on drugs. Who knows what the outcome would have been if I hadn't been running late. I already had a bad experience with the customer service at grub hub and just decided to find a different company. With what happened last night, I will be sharing this experience with the company as much as possible! Good for you to do what you can to protect your employees' grubhub. Your customers are what keep you going and it should be you #1 priority to be sure that customer service training is mandatory and that includes the proper training on CUSTOMER SAFETY AND HOW TO REACT IF THEY THINK THE CUSTOMER SAID SOMETHING OFFENSVE.
So I promise I'm not trying to get sympathy at all, it's just relevant to the post. My dad died yesterday, I haven't been paid yet and we're very low on groceries as is, but I forgot to stop at the store today with the little bit of money I have to buy groceries to make dinner tonight. I was understandably completely distracted and I also was in the process of trying not to have a nervous breakdown. Tonight I was supposed to be planning the funeral and notifying people of my Dad's passing and when the funeral services are. A close friend then mowed me some money to order dinner so that I wouldn't have to worry about that and could focus on the planning and just spend time with my son.
At 7:30 tonight I ordered Taco Bell from GrubHub, I like the other poster before me my Taco Bell was stolen too. My driver carmen, picked my order up drove most of the way to my house my son and I sat in front of the window watching outside with the porch light on waiting for the driver. Carmen stops 10 blocks away from my house and suddenly the order is marked as delivered. There's literally nobody here in my order was definitely not delivered. I text Carmen no response. I call Carmen the phone's not accepting calls at this time.
My son and I are hungry I am a complete wreck, and I have a massive headache because I haven't eaten a single thing today and I've been crying for hours. I get on chat with support and Carmen doesn't answer them either because the phone isn't accepting calls. So they're talking about they're going to have it re delivered okay cool, and then the chat agent stops responding. I wait for a minute and my phone rings and it's the agent because for some reason nothing was going through. So they confirm everything, what the order was, what the drinks were my name address phone number.
Agent hangs up the phone and the order refreshes on my app shows that it's pending that the Taco Bell is making the order. The order gets accepted almost instantly, by Carmen! The driver that I just reported. Same photo, same name. And she's already almost back to Taco Bell at this point. I immediately call customer service back and they start arguing with me that they cannot remove her from the order that they understand she just stole my previous order but there's nothing they can do on there and and that they will investigate the supposed theft at some point and I will not be privy to the results of the investigation. They continue refusing to remove her from my order claiming that they cannot unassign her, I escalated to supervisor the supervisor gets on she can't reach Carmen either.
Carmen showing up almost at the restaurant at this point I'm telling them I absolutely do not want this driver I am not paying for this if this driver's going to stay on this order this is ridiculous and suddenly Carmen unassigns herself. At this point it's almost 9:00. The supervisor on the phone says another driver will be assigned shortly, and I will be getting my order later because of the whole Carmen issue. So I have a verify that there's another driver on the way because it's not showing on the app it's just showing that Taco Bell is preparing my order. She confirms it, gets off the phone with me.
Patrick assigns himself to my order about 10 minutes later and he's almost at the restaurant he pulls in says Patrick's picking up your order. After almost 10 more minutes of Patrick sitting at the restaurant picking up my order suddenly my order is canceled. But GrubHub did it really sneaky. I did not get a text message. I did not get an email about it. I did not get a push notification on either my tablet or my phone. Nobody called me back. Nothing. The only reason I knew my order was canceled was because I was staring at the app on my tablet watching the progress. If I hadn't been doing that we would have been sitting there waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting.
I called GrubHub back I speak to three different agents and another supervisor who all say, that my order was canceled because my redelivery was picked up by Carmen again and she on assigned herself instead of marking it as picked up so when Patrick showed up Taco Bell told him my order had already been picked up. Because my order was picked up they cannot have it redelivered a second time. Even though it wasn't claimed as picked up, and even though they can see it wasn't claimed as picked up.
They decided to just cancel it quietly without notifying me hoping I wasn't watching the app, because mind you I've explained to them "look you're taking time away that I'm supposed to be using to plan this funeral can you please just fix this issue so that I don't need to spend time on this, you've turned something that was supposed to be a nice gesture from a friend to make my night easier into just a massive problem that is now just causing a lot more stress on top of an absolutely horrible situation."
They still won't redeliver it they won't do anything else other than tell me that I've been refunded, mind you in my area they stopped taking orders through GrubHub at 10:00 p.m. and they did not refund me until 10:01 and I was on the phone with them at this point at 10:10 p.m. so they've refunded me yes but I cannot reorder because nothing's open. And they think a $15 promotional credit to use another time is satisfactory, and they aren't going to do anything else for me. And when I finally lost my absolute mind and started yelling, not cursing not making threats just crying and yelling and telling them just get me my order this is not right they proceed to tell me just so you know this is being recorded. To which I said "yes and you are on recording acknowledging you allowed the SAME driver to steal a customer's order AND the redelivery, and are now telling them that they just don't get to eat tonight and that a $15 promo is supposed to make up for it." To which the supervisor told me to have a good night, my order was already picked up so I was lucky they even refunded it. And she hung up.
I understand they refunded me in the end, and I even understand they gave me a promo code (that won't work with any of the grubhub plus promos, and I have to spend over $25 to use it, and that $25 can't include tip or delivery fee so I have to spend more money to use it.) But seriously? You let the driver who just stole my order assign herself to my redelivery and you then also let her steal that order too and then waste over two hours of my time giving me a run around chasing these orders down and in the end tell me "just take a refund and go hungry"? As if tonight wasn't already absolutely horrible for me as is? Instead of eating dinner with my son and finishing the arrangements I spent that entire time chasing my orders down just to end up with no dinner AND I didn't get anything accomplished for the funeral and now I'm just more upset and angry on top of it all.
I want to blast them all over social media but honestly I am too overwhelmed with my dad's death right now and I don't think I have the energy and I also don't think they will care anyway. So here's my rant, hopefully if people Google "GrubHub order stolen" they stumble upon my post and see that grubhub doesn't give a rats a-- and maybe GrubHub will lose a customer or two besides us.

Yes I'm a GrubHub customer and have been for years but today it took the cake I opened GrubHub app as soon as I did I was logged in and a customer service representative was monitoring my activity on my app and when I placed an order with Riley's I went and purchased an order for delivery but they're representative did not send it to the store and when my driver got there they had no order for Eugene and they canceled my order so I called the store and talk to the manager and they said they never received the order at 11:30 customer service for saying it was closed when it wasn't so I try to place the second order and they representative continued to block me on my app until he got tired of me continually to try to order and he finally let me through for the second order and then instead of sending it for delivery he sent it for pickup and then when I found that out I called the store and they said yeah it was for pickup which I don't do that and then I placed a third order and then I called the store again to make sure the order was there and they said yes they ordered did receive for delivery and I told him to put the pickup order with the delivery order for Andy my driver so it'd be given to me so I wouldn't lose the pickup order but this customer service representative should be terminated for interfering with my order for GrubHub but on customer service when I called did not believe me and they knew who the representative was just supposed to send my order to this restaurant and I told him this continues again I'll remove GrubHub from my device and never use GrubHub again I'll use doordash are overeats so I'm just letting people know what I went through cuz of this customer service representative o
AVOID GRUBHUB AT ALL TURNS AND OPPORTUNITIES! GrubHub is a very unsavory scam! My first impression of GrubHub was an unpleasant taste in my mouth after its cofounder Mike Evans said that he started the company after falling into someone's armpits on a Chicago bus. Eewww! Then, I was unable to use a GrubHub $55 e-gift card, that was provided at an event, for an $11 pickup order. When I contacted them through Facebook, I was told that I had to provide a debit card to use their electronic gift card. It was terrible! Many participants, like me, at the event were unable to use the gift cards. Reality check: Using gift card should be an enjoyable complimentary experience. Whenever, in the past, I have used gift cards from retailers and e-retailers, I have never had any problem. And ideally, a gift card does a good job at converting gift card guests into future customers. But not so with this crappy company! Thankfully, the organizers of the 24+ hour event has tons of snacks. I now have a renewed appreciation for granola bars. Finally, GrubHub had no acceptable way for me to gift the unused GrubHub e-gift card to someone else. In their emails, they wanted info like "Your address associated with your GH account:

My last email to them included "This entire experience, especially these back-and-forth messages... and your procedure to gift an unused gift card definitely makes GrubHub unpalatable and undesirable. I Specifically requested them to come into my 3-Family House by the Side Door & bring my food up to me on the 2nd Flr... I received NO call or text saying that request could not be met, so assumed it wasn't a problem, until my food was 30 min.+ late, so I checked the status of my order, it said it was delivered almost 30 min. Earlier, so I clicked on "Help" and asked where my food was, He asked if "I happened to check the front porch", I said Noooo, I'm physically handicapped so if it's outside, I would not be able to carry it up bcus I only have the use of 1 side of my body and that's why I requested them to bring it up to me, someone should have called me to tell me they wouldn't bring it up n I would have cancelled the order (DoorDash doesn't have an issue bringing it up... He offered me a $15 refund, Noooo, so he offered me a $20 refund... Nooo... U charged me $43 & I want every penny refunded to me immediately. He Assured me "that this wouldn't happen again", I said Noooo, that's what U said last time it happened, I will not use GrubHub again. I only gave U a 2nd chance bcus my bank gave me a free mbrship for a year, but I'd rather Pay for Door Dash than go thru this again & told him to cancel my Free Mbrshp, I didn't want it!... He said my refund would be in the form a coupon off my next order. Again, Noooo. I don't want a coupon, this $ was taken from my checking account n I want it returned to my checking immediately so I can get myself Dinner! By this time, it's 9:30pm. I'm Beyond Furious & starving!... He did credit my checking acct the $43 bcus I wouldn't accept anything else... I printed out my receipt which is also wrong bcus it says I was charged the "delivery fee" which is the fee U don't pay for w/ a mbrship... The total on this receipt is $46.49, but when I checked my bank, they had actually charged me the $43... How many mistakes can U make on 1 order?!... I'm Done w/ them!... I will Never use them again!... It would have been less of a hassle to have gogograndparents bring me thru the Taco Bell DriveThru!... I give them 1 star n that's only bcus they didn't have a 0 star option!... NEVER AGAIN!
Unless U want to Double Check receipt n actual credit card charges n ur ok w/ the absolute minimum effort in service, U should use Any Other food delivery service Instead of GrubHub
