Hi
I've waited a long time to write this review in order to make a thorough evaluation.
The build is now about 3 years old and unlike every other gaming PC I've owned, it has never had a single issue or required even routine maintenance.
I've been a gamer for approximately 30 years and have owned many PC based system; both brand name gaming PC's and custom builds; always on a modest budget.
This is by far the most trouble free system I have ever owned and at the top of my list of the best performing gaming PC's I've ever owned.
Some systems were expensive and some were middle tier rigs but all and all this is the best overall box I've ever had.
I have always pushed games to their max capabilities, in single-player mode, monitor set 60Hz refresh rate and VSync disabled: Very demanding games such as Metro: Last Light Redux, Crysis 3, Battlefield 1 and Deus Ex: Mankind Divided.
This box rarely goes above a cool 22.3°C; even running wide open with unlimited Ragdoll/ NPC's & frames it has never stuttered or froze up.
Not too bad for a CPU released in 2015, but it's all you need:
It is a water cooled Core i5-6600K OC'd@ 4.2; ASUS Z170-A motherboard; MSI GeForce GTX 1070 card; CORSAIR Cooling Hydro Series H60 120mm Water Cooler; 240GB Solid State Drive SATA3; 16GB Crucial PC4 ***** DDR4 2133Mhz; 24X LG SATA Dual Layer DVD /-RW/CDRW; Windows 10 64bit; 1000watt PS; In a Thermaltake Core X71 CA-1F8-00M1WN-00 Black ATX full tower.
$1,598.00
Additionally, its VR ready evaluation is " performing well above recommended average quality is 10.8, frames tested 12,792@ 0 (0%) below 90 fps 0 (0%); frames CPU bound 5 (0%)
I will definitely go back to eCollegePC if this thing ever needs some TLC.
