Deceptive pricing is illegal, according to the FTC. The company posts all or most of the items on their website using this deceptive tactic by promoting them to be at super discounted rates of up to 70% off, when in actuality, the price was never that higher price and was always the price they sell at.
One abaya I returned was 2 inches too long; I sent pictures and they still claimed that after their investigation, it was the correct length. The picture shows 2 abayas from them, one the correct the length, the other longer, but they still refuse to accept their error.
Another issue is the color was completely off of 2 garments which I returned; although one color of another item is on their website and shows a different color than what I received, they claim there is no error. The other abaya I returned they issued me a gift card as they claim it was not eligible for return due to it being discounted. EVERYTHING ON THEIR WEBSITE CLAIMS TO BE AT A HUGE DISCOUNT! On the product page, it does NOT say the item is on clearance, it doesn't say it's not returnable, and after over a month, it's still the same price!
Their policy states they will refund return shipping if it is their error; they are refusing to give me back my money on my shipping and the other abaya.
Report them to the BBB and the FTC and anywhere else. They tout that they have been in business for 12 years, as if that means they are doing well. Look all over the internet at their reviews, they are terrible!
Stay away from this company! Your hard earned money is better spent elsewhere, even if you have to pay a little more, EastEssence is NOT worth the headache.

The company is not very clear about its shipping policy (that it takes a lot of time to assemble and pack the ordered items before shipping). Thus, It took full 38 days before the package arrived. I paid an extra customs fee, thus the ordered items were 50% more expensive than what I paid to the shop. For that price, I would never ordered the clothes. I ordered 10 items, one was not what what I ordered (a viscose knit without sleeves x with sleeves), but this particular item was nice, actually. I ordered 3 abayas (one for 30USD (with customs fee 45USD...), two for 20USD (with customs 30USD each)). Neither of them is wearable, actually as the quality of material is so incredibly poor (the first abaya of very thin viscose material, the two other ones from a synthetic material to be most likened to plastic shopping bag, incredible poor quality). In India, if you went to astreet market, these would be expensive for 5USD each!!! Then, there are two poplin tunics which are ok, but overpriced (16USD/24USD each...). A floral dress with weird cut and shape that does not fit. And two hijabs, just uneven pieces of rug, just ridiculous for 4,99(7,5USD) each. I am very sorry I ordered the items, as it is money thrown out of window. For that price, I could get much better quality in Europe (except for abayas which are not available on the market, it is not about quality but about availability), with all customer guarantees. Very disappointed, for 220USD, I have two mediocre tunics and a viscose knit inner slip... The rest can be thrown away straight away, as it is no wearable for its poor quality (really incredibly poor quality).
I placed my order which cost me 178$ November 31 and it said my expected shipping date will be December 14 to 18 and its December 22, I will be out of town from December 23 to December 26: don't kno how I will get it. Didn't have it yet. When I Call the respected customer service she was sooooooooooooooooooooooooo rude and she never tried to help me, it was my second order and of course won't recommend it to any of my friends or for any one interesting in purchasing from here
