Only hatemongers with specific agendas are successful. There are a few self development writers that do well.

I don't know about it being a scam, but it does seem to be very biased. They seem to favor content that projects the image of left-wing views and SJW propaganda. Also, blogs about the site itself where authors claim to make six figures from blogging there. They also seem to dangle that carrot in front of you by stating you can be very successful using their platform, yet they only offer vague curation guidelines and no feedback on why your content is not selected by curators. Without that, you are highly unlikely to get any traffic, let alone money, from posting there. In my opinion, they do this because having assorted content boosts their search engine results, yet they only feature topics and writers that fit their political agenda and ideology. That is left-wing, feminist, SJW propaganda, or blogs with Medium as the keyword. That's fine, those topics and belief systems deserve an outlet, except for the self-serving Medium posts. What's not okay is lying about it in order to collect content for SEO.
